#1-I took this "slat"
slat
to Image Magick
#2-Resize--340x340!
#3-Composite--comp sinedot 13 into the slat using "modulate"
#4-Transform--rotate right
#5-output as a gif
I then took the sinedot back to IM and painted the dark grey area using
Fuzz=0,method="replace",paint type="color",Fill color="red" and the end results is below
